The Changing Faces Of The Sony Boom Box And Hot Features

Sony Boom Box is a well known staple for all music lovers and has also been known by these slang names of jamming box or the ever favorite ghetto-blaster. A Boom Box is actually a radio in unique designs with huge speakers which gives you the additional features of playing cassette tapes or compact discs and recording them.

This is one of Sony's most popular products as it emits clear outstanding volume in loud levels other products like this do not. Many of these are even manufactured to were you can listen to radio stations and then record music you here onto cassette tapes. Teens and adults alike love these jam machines.

One of their most prized features is that they can run for hours with just batteries and carried wherever you may go. They can be plugged in to wall outlets as well when needed. Portability is the main thing these music machines were crafted for.

Several electronic companies started introducing their own brands of Sony's Jam Boxes within the latter part of the seventies. Stereo sound features were also new additions on the early recording radio and cassette players. People were even more aware of the Sony music magnificence when movies and music videos showed the rising culture of rap and hip-hop music as well as break dancing in the eighties.

As the popularity grew and more demand from consumers the different brands became extremely competitive against one another. Each manufacturer wanted their's to be the best, flashiest, loudest and with the most features. Soon though the big boomers were being transitioned out to more sleek, smaller designs which could be carried easily in a back pack, pocket or purse and be listened to from anywhere with battery power and much smaller earphones.

These smaller devices played cassette tapes, let you tune in to radio stations then in future years changed over to playing compact discs. The convenience of these increased their numbers in sales and the larger Boom Box versions were on a decrease. Stylish designs were added to the smaller ones as where vivid and funky colors which attracted the younger audience.

But the vintage Sony Boom Box is still coveted by many collector's, teenagers and adults who remember the one they had when they were young. These are still made today and have even more extravagant features to them. So why not take a walk down memory lane and enjoy a little of your lost childhood while listening to your favorite hot hits on one?
