About Leo~X

His intent is to build a dance community where all personalities feel supported in their desire to learn social dance and experience a better social outlook without the typical price gauging in the studio world.

His specialty is Creative Choreography. (Social, Wedding, Exhibition, Competition, or Solo Routines). He's a Master Instructor at Social Group Classes, especially when it comes to using a class as a fire starter for a dance party.

His Notorious Syllabus, "HOT DOG Variations", is designed for average students to master a sense of social confidence and style when dancing simple steps to flashy steps, without the need to take years upon years of lessons.

He's taken his most intense and inspiring influences (Oleg & Tatiana Suvorov, Ron Montez, Donald Johnson, Eric Cyr, Melissa Rivas, Mark Wiess, Viola Wiess, Tom Hicks, Wendy Johnson, Nadia Eftedal, Max Winkelhaus, Michael Watkins, Steve Platt, Dennis Lyle, Anita Rogers, Sonny Perry, Joe Nuzzo, Martin Parker, Lisa Narita, Phil Lowers, Phil Adams, Carrie Lucas, Doreen Feinstein, Alex Gerstenzang, Adam Corolla, Frosty, Heidi, and Frank, the Dali Lama, and King Leonidus) and produced a system of teaching for ballroom dance studios that builds a positive community of happy students growing in their own individual style of dance. All based on smart pricing and simple business concepts.

Leo has competed in American Rhythm Open Pro Division. and in the Rising Star Division as well as in Night Club Dance competitions.
He is currently competing with his students/clients in the Professional Amateur Division. Kinda like “Dancing with the Stars” where one dancer is a pro and the other a student.

Hobbies:
Attending competitions with friends and students in fine hotels. "We love room service and disco dancing in the hotel clubs." Video Games with My Sons, Competition Paintball, Spoon-Fed History, Reading, Chess, Gardening, Beach Volleyball, Motorcycles and great dialogue.

Personality Profile: Like all creative spirits, he is known to be a little moody once in a while. However, his students love him so they tolerate him and enjoy dancing and socializing with him. Especially because of his playful nature with dance patterns and rhythms.

Leo started Ballroom is Back! Dance Studio over 10 years ago and is a firm believer in the social healing properties that ballroom dancing brings. He makes sure that Ballroom is Back Dance Studios (aka B1) stays on its grass roots path to keeping social dancing and social interacting as accessible as possible to the masses. Regardless of how huge the dance organization gets as it acquires more locations, Ballroom is Back! Is always participating in community projects, fundraisers, and acknowledging the people responsible for its wonderful growth: its family of dance student and clients.

He coined the phrase, "If you are not dancing, you're just part of the crowd... Ballroom is Back!", "Ballroom Underground", "Cha Cha Funk", (a blend of Cha and Cha & Hip Hop or Pop Music, and has a huge reputation in OC on thinking outside of the box for ballroom studios and events. He is the only Studio Owner and Pro Dancer to date that launched a Real Night Club for Ballroom Dancing, as well as introduced Ballroom Dancing to the community on TV, Radio, and OC's largest New Years Eve Event, at the OC Fairgrounds... and much, much more!

"Some dancers stand up to express,

Some dancers stand up to invite,

Some dancers stand up to be counted,

Some dancers stand up to make a statement,

What do you stand up for?

Whatever it is, unless you stand up, you might as well not dance... ever."
