Great - Wireless Home Stereo Review

by Noah Brown

Thanks to Kleer's uncompressed audio transmission technology another journey began via listening to some of my favorite Blue-rays like Oliver Stones "The Doors". The bass sounds are outstanding and precise. The rechargeable batteries last a really long time, and charge very quickly. The base station is stylish, and the charge mechanism is really easy (there are three contact points on the top, and when you rest your headphones on top, it charges them).

I believe another reviewer said that these headphones would make you hate your speakers. And I have fine speakers. Living in a one bedroom apartment, it's awesome to sleep in peace and quiet, while not forcing boyfriend to keep quiet as a mouse as he stays up late. I've owned these cans for a month now, and I can say this headphone is not bad.

They twist and adjust quite a bit to fit different size and shaped heads. The base is modern and nice looking.

This out-of-phase problem is not something I hadn't heard about before. Prior to purchasing the 180's I read reviews to the extent they existed (the 180's are a new product) and found a review where this problem was pointed out.

I am impressed I can hear things on my games I never knew existed and the music and television is awesome. Plus these are much more comfortable than the older set that I had. If you never need the source to be on at the same time you are using the 180's, this will not be an issue for you. For me, it is very typical for the TV to be on for others while I am using the headphones. There is even much more of a 5:1 effect than I get with my room system (which is also fantastic). So - I wouldn't even consider any other model, or for that matter, any other brand than the Sennheiser. Well, it just has to be said. These are brilliant headphones in terms of undisturbed sound transmission and quality of sound. They play fine all throughout the day so they are full charged each morning. When you take the headphones off, you must press the ON button on the base unit, and then press the power button on the headphones before they will work.

I couldn't find them in Canada so purchased them in the US for $254. The suggested retail in Canada on the Sennheiser site is $499. If the light is only flashing once, press and then quickly release the on/off button and the bottom light will begin to blink multiple times indicating it is broadcasting to more than one headset. Hope this helps.

On the other hand, if the earphone charging station and transmitter were separated, I guess they might both need AC power, which would increase the cost of the unit. There is also a split-second delay between the time you hear something on the TV speakers, and the time you hear the same thing on the headphones.
