THE MORE YOU KNOW THE BETTER YOU WILL DECIDE; Just remember, "Haste makes waste."

When should I start taking classes? Now. Our classes are designed for you to drop in and get started at anytime. Each week we introduce an new pattern and after enough patterns you should practice them in our "Practice & Critique" Session on Monday or Wednesday Nights at 8:30 pm.

When do the classes start over? At the beginning of each month. Take the first class in the first week of the month and you will be introduced to the first pattern on the syllabus of that dance.

Note: There are over 5 basic or beginning steps in each syllabus. Therefore each week will introduce a basic step as if the class had started over, and over, and over, each week. This is why we focus on teaching the body how to execute dance steps through technique and a correct understanding of movement through steps.

However, some individuals are overly focused on going through steps 1 - 5 in order and for those linear thinking purists we recommend starting at the beginning of the month.

Remember, "Dance is an Art form and not a science."

How many lessons do I need? Every salesman at every studio will try and sell you a contract of a ton of lessons. Most studios will sell you private lessons over group classes (higher profit margins) and the average price for such a private lesson is at least $85 per unit at independent studios and $140 per unit with bigger name franchise studios. YUK!! The reality of the matter is that you should take private lessons when you decide to become a disciple of dance. This happens to golf players, tennis players, and anyone else that becomes an enthusiast of a sport or other art form. Otherwise, Take as many classes as you need to become confident and that my friend only you will know. The more classes you take per week the quicker you will know what the heck you are doing in dance class and hopefully, sooner then later, you will decide on a dance goal to shoot for.

What level should I start at? Start at Level I or Beginner I if you are an absolute beginner or newcomer. Start at Level I or Level II if you are an average person and not timid by the potential to speed things up. Take Level II only as a starting point if you are a quick learner and a great listener.

Level II and Level III Classes are for everyone but will produce better results if you have a Level I understanding.

I am getting married, when should I start taking lessons? If you want to experience a no-stress learning program with very HIGH results then start 10 months before your wedding date. If you are limited on time then start at least 6 months before the wedding. If you don't care how your new husband will feel about the stress and peer pressure a hetersexual male combats on the battle field of a dance studio...then start within 3 months of the wedding. If you want your fiancee to stay a fiancee and have second thoughts on your wedding then shove him into dance lessons with a few weeks left before the wedding.

Which studio should I attend? It depends on your nature, interest and expectations, timelines, locality, and budget. I have worked for every studio in OC, or Danced at every studio in OC, or know the owners and teachers in every studio in OC. Let me know what your deal is and I can match you up with a great choice or choices? We understand that we, Ballromisback.com, are the best place to get started and build your dance foundation.
